Caton Construction Group is a Heavy/Highway Civil & General Construction company with offices in Troy, Virginia, and Cary, North Carolina, and one of The Caton Companies. We are currently seeking a General Laborer for our roadway/bridge project in Marion, Virginia (Smith County). STARTING PAY is negotiable and based on skills and experience.The construction laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at general building and highway/heavy construction projects. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with time provided for lunch, hours may vary. Work may be local or out of town in which case overnight stays are required. This position frequently requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver's License Required
2+ years of heavy highway experience; Roads, Highways, Bridges, DOT, or site work project experience
