Job summary

Turner Construction's Austin site offers an internship on an active construction project, mentoring you to develop foundational knowledge in construction management, safety protocols, and project coordination while earning educational credits.

As an Intern, you will support the project team with document control, reporting, meetings, and learning through hands-on tasks across disciplines, with emphasis on safety and teamwork in a live site environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited degree program (Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management) with at least 1 year completed.
• Must be 18 years old to work on a construction project site.
• Desire to work in construction management and learn about the industry.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Commitment to standard business hours and possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist on active construction project sites under supervision.
• Coordinate meetings, track materials, manage files, and report progress.
• Follow site signage and supervisor instructions.
• Provide progress reports and learn construction management.
• Relate academic knowledge to work activities.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings, and orientation.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Assist with project start-up activities and support Project Engineer/Superintendent/Manager.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Assist with project close-out preparations.
