Turner Construction invites an Intern to join our San Antonio project team. You will assist on a live site, learning construction management, safety protocols, and project coordination while supporting engineers and managers with day-to-day tasks.

The role emphasizes applying academic knowledge to real-world construction activities, developing professional skills, and building relationships with trades and vendors on a dynamic project.

Qualifications

• Enrolled and actively pursuing a college/university degree or co-op program
• Majors recommended include Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field
• At least 1 year of completed education or equivalent experience
• Must be 18 years of age to work on construction sites
• Willing to work standard business hours and potential overtime
• Strong verbal and written communication in English
• Ability to read and comprehend written information
• Able to work independently with supervision and in a team setting
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Assist on active construction project site and learn construction management basics
• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, and progress reporting
• Follow project site signage and supervisor instructions; relate academic learning to work activities
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors
• Participate in training, meetings, and orientation; adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements
• Assist with start-up activities, RFIs, shop drawings, and contract information distribution
• Assist with estimates for changes in work and project close-out preparations
• Attend project site visits to observe field activities
