Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector- Welding/Coating to monitor federal construction projects in Pittsburgh, PA. The role emphasizes welding inspections, coating testing, and adherence to quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have AWS CWI, ASNT qualification, NACE/ SSPC Level I coatings training, and experience with three-phase QC/inspection. US citizenship and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting welding on construction projects.
• NDT personnel qualified to ASNT standards.
• Coating inspection training and testing of coating systems.

Responsibilities

• Observe, inspect, and report on construction projects at federal facilities for workmanship and materials compliance.
• Perform welding inspections related to steel fabrication.
• Follow shop practices including storage, handling, cutting, bending, machining, fit-up, surface prep, welding, bolting, erection and coatings.
• Conduct coating inspections and testing of coating systems and methods of application.
• Perform structural bolting inspections and testing of bolting methods and installation.
• Provide recommendations to government personnel regarding plans and specs across construction phases.
• Monitor contractor’s quality system and three-phase inspection process.
• Provide surveillance at sites and assist owner in issue resolution.
• Review change orders, modifications, RFIs, and submittals.
• Monitor contractor’s schedule.
• Ensure QA and safety plans are adhered to by contractor.
• Utilize RMS.
