Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Construction Rep intern to provide field and office support during construction phases. You will assist the Resident Engineer, maintain project data, and coordinate testing and quality control inspections to track progress.

Required may include an Associate or Bachelor degree in construction-related fields, strong MS Office skills, basic math, and ability to read drawings. NICET CMIT or digital construction tools knowledge is preferred, with multiple project locations listed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in relevant field and 2 years relevant experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meeting agendas and minutes; tracks RFIs, submittals, pay estimates, and other deliverables.
• Assists with construction field tasks to ensure conformance to plans and specifications; coordinates quality control inspections.
• Observes on-site material testing and coordinates testing and monitoring services.
• Performs basic quantity calculations for pay items.
• Reviews shop drawings and ensures compliance with plans and specs.
• Reads construction drawings and identifies discrepancies or conflicts.
• Reviews daily contractor reports and documents project progress with photos/video.
• Liaises with the Resident Engineer to resolve progress issues and communicate with the engineer of record.
• Keeps up-to-date with industry technology and uses GPS/Rovers to improve inspection efficiency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
