Job summary

HNTB is seeking current or former interns for an on-site construction inspector role. You will monitor daily activities, document work progress, and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract provisions.

You will maintain daily logs and assist Field Engineers with discrepancies and changes. The position emphasizes hands-on inspection, measurement, and reporting, with responsibilities including on-site material testing, preparing as-constructed sketches, and supporting project

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience.
• All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
• Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
• Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
• Performs on‑site material testing and produces as‑constructed sketches as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
