Job summary

CDM Smith in Olympia, WA, is seeking an estimator to join our construction cost management team. You will perform basic to moderately complex estimating, research costs, prepare opinions of probable cost (OPCC), and support pre‑bid activities, subcontractor pricing, and change management on diverse projects.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline, at least 3 years of related experience, and the ability to read and interpret

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with project managers on cost data and OPCCs.
• Develop purchase orders, subcontracts and change orders as needed.
• Prepare project scheduling and cost analyses for routine reporting.
• Provide technical guidance and QA/QC on project sites.
