Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Estimator to support construction cost assessment across multiple projects in the Fairfax, VA area. You will perform quantity take-offs, prepare cost estimates, and assist in bid development using Timberline and historical data.

The role involves coordinating with project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing, and participating in pre-bid activities and change management processes.

Qualifications

• Perform basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs and cost research.
• Prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) using Timberline.
• Review pricing from suppliers and subcontractors and support bid development.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity take-offs and create material price lists.
• Research historical data to develop guidelines for estimates.
• Coordinate pricing with project managers and procurement.
• Contact subcontractors for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participate in pre-bid walks and Bid-Day tabulations.
• Develop scopes of work and assist in change management.
