Job summary

Central Civil Construction seeks an experienced Estimator to support preconstruction and bidding for civil projects. You will develop accurate estimates, perform quantity takeoffs, and manage subcontractor pricing.

Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver competitive bids, assess risks, and identify value-engineering opportunities, ensuring timely submission and completeness of proposals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in civil construction.
• Experience preparing competitive bids for public and/or private-sector projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, scopes of work, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, bids, budgets, quantity takeoffs, and cost evaluations for civil construction projects.
• Review plans, specifications, scopes, and contract documents to develop accurate estimates.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing and scopes.
• Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns with accuracy and completeness.
• Build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal teams.
• Identify risks, value-engineering opportunities, and potential cost-saving options.
• Support bid process including tracking, solicitations, scope reviews, and final proposal preparation.
• Collaborate with project management on constructability, schedules, and budgets.
• Assist preconstruction activities and provide estimating support during development.
• Maintain estimating databases and current market pricing.
• Ensure bids are accurate, professional, and submitted on time.
