Job summary

Jobot is a nationally recognized construction firm seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our Lynn, MA team. This permanent role covers hospital, education, school, commercial, and government projects.

You will prepare detailed cost estimates, analyze materials and labor, use estimating software, and present results to stakeholders. A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience are preferred. Strong analytical, math, and communication skills are essential.

Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year

We are looking for a seasoned Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. This is a permanent position requiring the candidate to have a deep understanding of the construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in various construction sectors including hospital, higher education, school, commercial, federal or state or government construction, and more. You will be responsible for estimating costs for our diverse construction projects and will play a crucial role in the financial planning of our construction projects.

Job Details

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing the materials and labor needed for a project.
• Use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Understand the project/program and its requirements.
• Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
• Gather first‑hand information from sites, warehouses, or other venues.
• Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
• Use complex mathematical formulas and models to predict future costs.
• Maintain records of estimated and actual costs.
• Accurately predict the cost, size, and duration of future construction projects.
• Work closely with project managers and directors to create comprehensive action plans.
• Present estimates to stakeholders and key decision‑makers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation.
• Proven experience in hospital, higher education, school, commercial, federal or state or government construction, government construction, federal construction, cost estimation, commercial construction, municipal construction, marine construction, restaurant construction, historical construction.
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills.
• Proficiency in computer software for job costing, scheduling, estimating, and project management.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Detail‑oriented with a strategic mindset.
• In‑depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulas.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications and blueprints.
• Familiarity with financial and project management principles.
• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus.
