Job summary

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of construction estimating experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering, and strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Construction Estimator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in our company's construction projects, including healthcare facilities, hospitals, higher education institutions, K-12 and private schools, and commercial buildings. Your primary responsibility will be to estimate the costs of these construction projects, ensuring that our projects are financially feasible and profitable. This role requires a strong background in Construction Management, Cost Estimation, Project Management, and the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for various construction projects across different sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial industries.
• Review drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Participate in proposal preparation and client presentations, providing clear and concise cost information.
• Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to aid in estimation process.
• Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to discuss cost estimates and resolve cost discrepancies.
• Monitor and adjust contract expenditures, and review and process construction change orders.
• Participate in project management tasks as needed, ensuring projects stay within budget and timeline.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in construction estimating techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on healthcare, higher education, K-12, and private school construction projects.
• Proven expertise in construction management, cost estimation, and project management.
• Proficient in relevant software, including cost estimation and project management tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a customer service mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and work under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal construction and health and safety regulations.
• Professional certification in construction estimating or project management is a plus.
