Job summary

OEG, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator in Boise, Idaho. The role focuses on estimating electrical projects from bid prep through closeout, with responsibilities spanning quantity takeoff, pricing, and proposal development.

Ideal candidates hold a related technical or business degree and have at least five years of electrical estimating experience, plus strong communication and analytical skills. Local travel up to 10% and background checks may apply.

Responsibilities

  • Quantity takeoff.
  • Enter quantities into estimating software.
  • Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Review current material pricing levels.
  • Review and estimate addenda as required.
  • Visit site and/or attend site walk meetings.
  • Review bid/construction schedule.
  • Draft and submit proposal documents.
  • Follow post bid closeout procedures.
  • Attend weekly estimating team meetings.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

Estimators provide technical estimation of electrical projects from bid preparation through job close out documentation to the customer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A working knowledge of electrical construction and theory at a level normally acquired through completion of an electrical training program, two‑year technical or business degree or related field; and
  • 5 years' experience as an electrical estimator.

  • Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated conceptual estimates and financial analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Quantity takeoff.
  • Quantity takeoff entry into estimating software.
  • Solicitation and review vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Review current material pricing levels.
  • Review and estimate addenda as required.
  • Visit site and/or attend site walk meeting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Construction management degree.
  • Experience in the construction industry.
