Job summary

Esi Electrical Contractors, Inc. is seeking an Estimator responsible for providing technical estimation for electrical projects. This position requires a thorough understanding of electrical construction, a two-year technical degree, and at least 5 years of experience as an estimator.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantity takeoff.
  • Enter takeoff into estimating software.
  • Solicit and review vendor quotations.
  • Review material pricing levels.
  • Review and estimate addenda.
  • Attend site walk meetings.
  • Draft proposal documents.
  • Follow post bid closeout procedures.
  • Attend estimating team meetings.

JOB SUMMARY

Estimators provide technical estimation of electrical projects from bid preparation through job close out documentation to the customer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A working knowledge of electrical construction and theory at a level normally acquired through completion of an electrical training program, two-year technical or business degree or related field; and
  • 5 years' experience as an electrical estimator.

  • Excellent human relations skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated conceptual estimates and financial analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Quantity takeoff.
  • Quantity takeoff entry into estimating software.
  • Solicitation and review vendor and subcontractor quotations.
  • Review current material pricing levels.
  • Review and estimate addenda as required.
  • Visit site and/or attend site walk meeting.
  • Draft and submit proposal documents.
  • Follow post bid closeout procedures.
  • Attend weekly estimating team meetings.
  • Performs other tasks and special projects as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in the construction industry.
