Alta Equipment Group, a leading North American equipment dealer, seeks an Operations Manager for our South Elgin location. You will oversee service, parts, and rental operations, drive efficiency, and lead a team to meet performance targets.

Base salary ranges from $90,000 to $115,000 USD, with potential bonuses, reflecting experience and market norms. The role emphasizes process improvement, KPI tracking, and a strong safety culture in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operations or branch management experience in heavy equipment, automotive, construction, or related industries.
• Strong organizational and process management skills with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to build and lead cohesive, high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Solid understanding of service department workflows, parts inventory control, and rental operations.
• Proficiency with business systems (ERP, CRM, or dealership management software preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily branch operations across service, parts, and rental departments.
• Implement, monitor, and refine processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with Service and Parts Managers to ensure alignment with company goals and performance metrics.
• Lead and support staff development, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
• Manage operational KPIs including technician efficiency, parts turns, rental utilization, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure accurate reporting, cost control, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance branch performance and customer service.
