Granite Construction Incorporated is seeking enthusiastic interns to assist construction engineering operations and learn through hands-on experiences across locations. You will help with takeoffs, documentation, and material calculations while supported by mentors.

The role emphasizes familiarity with MS Office, basic trig, and strong teamwork. This internship offers exposure to real projects, safety programs, and a pathway toward a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED and be working towards a bachelor’s degree.
• Proficient with MS Office; able to perform trig calculations.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations to supervisor.
• Provide technical support regarding project materials meeting specifications, delivery dates and schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches to support estimating and construction work.
• Develop job essential data including quantity take-offs and material pricing to ensure accurate estimates and bids.
• Maintain accurate records of quantities for work performed and materials installed for cost controls on construction projects.
