Job summary

Granite Construction seeks enthusiastic interns and entry-level engineers to assist construction engineering operations in ensuring work complies with engineering standards.

You will interpret drawings for takeoffs, prepare documentation, and support estimating with material pricing and schedules, while maintaining records for cost control. This role requires a high school diploma or GED and progress toward a bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• 0–2 years in construction estimating support or related field.
• Proficient with MS Office; able to perform basic trig calculations.

Responsibilities

• Interpret design/drawings for takeoff and workforce for bidding and building construction projects.
• Prepare and distribute documentation such as status reports, punch lists, sketches and material calculations.
• Provide technical support regarding project materials meeting specs, delivery dates and schedules.
• Assist with change orders and estimates by preparing drawings and sketches.
• Develop data for accurate estimates and bids; maintain quantities for cost controls.
