Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Construction Safety) to lead day-to-day EHS management on Brownsville, TX construction sites, implementing contractor programs and conducting hazard assessments.

The role requires an engineering degree, CHST/CSP certifications, OSHA/NFPA/EPA regulation knowledge, and hands-on safety training, incident investigation, and strong communication; relocation to Brownsville may be required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
CHST and/or CSP certifications preferred.
Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, EPA/RCRA and other regulations.
Experience overseeing EHS on construction sites; relocation to Brownsville, TX may be required.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day EHS site management for a fast-paced construction project.
Implement, enforce and audit contractor EHS programs across spaces where SpaceX operates.
Develop job hazard assessments and establish PPE requirements; implement safety policies.
Monitor and evaluate employee exposure to hazards during normal and emergency situations.
Investigate incidents, spills or injuries to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with EPA, RCRA, DOT and other regulatory agencies; allocate safety resources accordingly.
