Job summary

WestStar is seeking a Construction & Commercial Loan Specialist II to assist lenders with the loan process, gather information, and ensure proper paperwork. The role supports construction, lot, and development loans, processes LC/letters of credit, and coordinates renewals while maintaining compliance with banking regulations.

The ideal candidate has extensive banking experience, strong documentation knowledge, and proficiency with nCino and LaserPro, plus Notary eligibility in TX/NM.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years banking experience including construction lending.
• Ability to communicate with bank personnel, customers, attorneys and title companies.
• Strong knowledge of construction and commercial loan documentation.
• Regulatory knowledge: Regulation B, HMDA, OFAC, CIP, Beneficial Ownership, Flood Regulation.
• Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel and Adobe.
• Ability to work in a team and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to obtain Notary Public license for Texas or New Mexico.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers to build relationships through proactive outreach and follow-up.
• Assist bankers in collecting information from builders for loan processing.
• Manage processing of multiple loan files in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform calculations for construction, lot and development loans per approved standards.
• Support maintenance of existing construction and lot loans daily.
• Process Letters of Credit for subdivision developments and renewals.
• Assist in loan renewals by coordinating documentation and signatures.
• Balance facilities on Construct against bank core systems.
• Provide wire transfers, payments and advances support.
• Notarize documents when necessary.
• Review attorney prepared documents and prepare Laser Pro loan documents.
