Job summary
Northern Trust is seeking a seasoned real estate finance professional to underwrite construction loans and advise clients on banking products, regulatory changes, and risks. The role supports loan structuring, risk analysis and portfolio quality, with periodic travel to client locations.
The successful candidate will have 5+ years in commercial or residential real estate lending, strong negotiation and client management skills, and proficiency in Excel and banking systems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in commercial or residential real estate construction, draw administration, client servicing and lending.
- Strong negotiation, leadership and sales capabilities to manage client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Administers construction loans (commercial and residential) with real estate lending officers.
- Counsels clients on banking products, regulatory changes and impacts on client activities.
- Keeps abreast of market trends to better identify and service clients.
- Assists in structuring and negotiating complex loan agreements per guidelines.
- Oversees release of funds at each construction stage and coordinates inspections.
- Evaluates credit worthiness and presents to loan committee to ensure a quality portfolio.
- Prepares proposals and sales presentations for client needs.
- Travels regularly to client locations.
