Construction & Commercial Loan Specialist II

Summary
Performs diversified and complex duties to include assisting construction lenders with the loan process, ensuring proper completion of paperwork, and assisting customers as needed.
Essential Functions
- Interact with customers to demonstrate care and build relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow up
- Assist construction bankers in receiving, compiling, and requesting additional information from builders to efficiently process construction, lot, and development loan requests. This will include but is not limited to ordering title commitments, appraisals, and other pertinent related documentation as required.
- Manage the processing of multiple loan files in a fast-paced customer service-focused environment
- Manage the construction, lot, and development loan process through accurate calculations that adhere to approved standards applicable to each specific credit facility.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of existing construction and lot loans through daily activities which include but are not limited to customer contact, calculations, documentation, and usage of the construction management platform Construct.
- Process Letters of Credit for subdivision developments, along with subsequent renewals.
- Process existing construction advances in the absence of the Construction Systems Administrator.
- Answer customer inquiries relating to invoices, draws, and other servicing items
- Assist construction bankers in the loan renewal process for credit facilities including but not limited to ordering loan documentation from attorneys and coordinating signatures with the customer.
- Balance credit facilities on Construct platform against the balance reported on the bank core system for assigned builders.
- Assist construction bankers with wire transfers, payments, and advances.
- Notarize documents when necessary
- Review Attorney prepared documents
- Prepare loan documents in Laser Pro
- Carries out responsibilities with professionalism and respect for others in accordance with the Bank’s policy as well as to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Banking Regulations
- Provide technical support to Junior Lenders
- Participating in training as requested
- Other duties and special projects as assigned
Required Education, Experience, Skills
- Minimum ten years banking experience, to include experience in construction lending, lending or credit operations
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of bank personnel, customers, attorneys, & title companies; ability to provide excellent customer service
- Strong knowledge of construction and commercial loan documentation to include handling complex transactions and real estate transactions
- State and Federal banking regulatory knowledge should include current understanding of Regulation B, HMDA, OFAC, CIP, Beneficial Ownership, Flood Regulation
- Highly proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Adobe
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ability to multi-task and handle fast-paced work environment
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Work with minimal supervision while performing duties
- Strong knowledge of nCino and LaserPro
- Ability to obtain Notary Public license for the state of Texas or New Mexico
