Job summary

DEFTEC is seeking a Construction Control Inspector to join our team in support of government contracting and major construction projects. You will serve as a technical consultant to the contracting office and engineering flight, providing construction expertise for planning, design interpretation, and field issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction/contract-related experience with a relevant degree.
• Knowledge of inspection practices for building materials, workmanship, and systems.
• Familiarity with electrical, mechanical, and structural aspects of major projects.
• Proficiency in inspection and safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural plans and specs.
• Working knowledge of algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides construction expertise to support planning, design interpretation, and field issue resolution.
• Inspects complex projects to ensure contractor compliance with approved plans and specs; monitors schedules and materials.
• Reviews plans against field conditions, coordinates proposed revisions with engineers and contractors.
• Inspects on-site materials and equipment; collects samples and documents non-conformances; supports final inspections.
• Maintains detailed, auditable project documentation including logs, reports and field-change records.
