DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a Construction & Renovation Project Manager in Colorado Springs, CO to lead USSPACECOM construction programs. You will liaise with USACE, AFCEC, and other stakeholders to manage complex, multi-year projects and ensure mission readiness.

The role requires a TS clearance, US citizenship, and a strong background in architecture or engineering project management. You will collaborate across directorates, deliver briefings, and maintain schedule and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or an engineering discipline is required.
• 5–7 years of mid to senior level experience managing highly complex, multi-year projects ($1M–$1B).
• Familiarity with DoD construction standards and USACE MILCON processes.
• Active Top-Secret Clearance; US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction program management for USSPACECOM, coordinating with USACE and AFCEC.
• Deliver status briefings and coordinate with military officers and civilian stakeholders.
• Advise on facility construction planning and cross-directorate collaboration.
• Serve as a senior engineering advisor for construction projects at the local command.
• Escalate urgent matters promptly and track against plan.

POSITION OVERVIEW

DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a motivated Subject Matter and Technical Expert for construction projects for the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM). Serve as a customer representative and technical expert to lead and manage the construction process by liaising with the United States Corps of Engineers (USACE), the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), USSPACECOM Joint directorates, functional components, and service components.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver presentations on program status, accomplishments, problems, and requirements for support, and promotion of program objectives to military officers and civilians in other mission-centric offices of the Command, agencies, and Services
• Support meetings with executives of other Federal, state, and local agencies
• Advise and assist with facility construction planning and management tasks coordinating internally and across other USSACECOM Directorates and external mission partners
• Act as a liaison between USSPACECOM and the Government construction managers (e.g., U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, or others), mission operations entities and internal and external stakeholders to ensure mission requirements are addressed in all phases of facility project design, construction, and mission equipment integration
• Serves as a trusted senior engineering advisor for all construction projects within the local command
• Ensure that urgent matters are highlighted to the staff at the division/chief or designee level promptly.
• Develop Course of Action briefings for senior leaders during project planning
• Develop execution schedule, track against the baseline, and identify execution issues
• Coordinate with Resource Manager to meet USSC-driven spend plan
• Support recurring progress updates to senior leaders and track scope, schedule, and cost changes

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or an Engineering discipline
• 5-7 years of mid to senior-level experience with subject matter experience in managing highly complex, multi-year $1M to $1B Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering projects.
• Familiarity with DoD construction standards and processes and with USACE management structure and MILCON execution
• Active Top-Secret Clearance
• Be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Architecture or an Engineering discipline, or professional registration/license in architecture or engineering
• 10+ years of mid to senior-level experience with subject matter experience in managing highly complex, multi-year $1M to $1B Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering projects.
