Job summary

The Hartford is seeking a Construction Claim Representative in the Complex Claims Unit (CCU) to manage construction-related GL claims from inception to disposition. You will handle inquiries, analyze coverage parts, pursue coverage positions, conduct investigations, and manage litigation with counsel and other carriers.

The role involves high exposure claims and collaboration with management and partners. The position offers hybrid or remote work options; a State Adjuster’s License is required

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive communications and respond to inquiries from customers and business partners in the management of claims.
• Review and analyze complex policies and coverage parts.
• Write and articulate coverage positions.
• Conduct investigations regarding claims and/or lawsuits.
• Manage litigation with counsel and/or other carriers.
• Make liability and damages assessments.
• Pursue risk transfer against other liable parties and insurance carriers.
• Attend mediations and trials as necessary.
• Keep management informed of claim developments.
• Manage expenses, reserves and financial transactions.
