Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Business Development Manager to own the market, focusing on general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms. You will build relationships, manage a pipeline, and drive deals from first contact to signed testing and inspection work.

You will work with a seller-doer engineer pricing and sealing the technical side, while you handle the relationships, pipeline, and close. This role offers base salary plus commission on revenue you develop.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry — testing, inspection, engineering, equipment, or subcontracting.
• An existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market of the posting.
• Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.
• Comfortable talking specifications and schedules with a superintendent and contract terms with an owner.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms; own relationships end to end.
• Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before it is awarded.
• Qualify and pursue opportunities; run the pursuit pipeline in the CRM from first contact to signed agreement.
• Coordinate proposals with engineering: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
• Represent the company at industry events; report pipeline and results monthly.
