Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Business Development Manager to own and grow the market, focusing on relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms. You will work with a seller-doer engineer to price and seal the technical side, while you cultivate the pipeline and drive revenue from new accounts.

Your responsibilities include building a strong client list, tracking permits and bid boards, coordinating proposals with engineering, and representing the firm

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
• Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market.
• Disciplined pipeline habits: forecastable, and honest.
• Comfortable talking specifications and schedules with a superintendent and contract terms with an owner.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms.
• Own relationships end to end and track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before it is awarded.
• Run the pursuit pipeline from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
• Coordinate proposals with the engineering team: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
• Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events.
• Report pipeline and results monthly.
