Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Business Development Manager to own the market pipeline of general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms. You will work with a seller-doer engineer to price and seal the technical side while you focus on relationships, pipeline, and closing deals.

Your role includes regularly traveling to client sites, guiding proposals, and reporting progress. Base salary plus commission is earned on collected revenue from accounts you develop.

Qualifications

5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
An existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market.
Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.
Comfortable talking specifications and schedules with a superintendent and contract terms with an owner.

Responsibilities

Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms; own those relationships end to end.
Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before it is awarded.
Run the pursuit pipeline from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
Coordinate proposals with the engineering team: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events; report pipeline and results monthly.
