Job summary

The Axel Group, LLC is seeking a Billing Associate to support our client’s accounting team in the construction industry. The role focuses on invoicing, posting payments, and collections to ensure smooth cash flow and accurate receivables.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years invoicing experience (including AIA), strong communication and customer service skills, and familiarity with QuickBooks or similar software. Associates degree in Accounting is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years invoicing experience, including AIA billing.
Excellent customer service skills with professional email and telephone etiquette.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
Associates degree in Accounting preferred but not required.
Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

Responsibilities

Handle all customer invoicing, including monthly contracts, time & materials, and AIA billing.
Post all customer payments into the accounting system and apply them to the appropriate invoices.
Perform collection activities related to overdue customer accounts through phone calls, emails, etc.
Track and request retainage releases at appropriate times for applicable accounts.
Execute other administrative and accounting duties as assigned by the Accounts Receivable Manager.
