Job summary

Sterling Search Partners is seeking an experienced Billing Coordinator to support the financial operations of a growing construction company. The role focuses on managing customer billing, accounts receivable, collections, job costing, and reconciliations to ensure accurate invoicing and timely payments.

The ideal candidate will have strong AR and collections experience with project-based billing, and be proficient with Excel and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounts receivable, billing, and collections.
• Experience with job costing, project-based billing, and reconciling labor, materials, equipment, or other job-related expenses.
• Construction industry or related project-driven business background.
• Strong customer service and communication skills, with ability to balance collections with relationships.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Billing & Invoicing: Prepare, review, and process customer invoices accurately and timely.
• Accounts Receivable & Collections: Manage the full AR cycle and follow up on past-due invoices.
• Aging Management: Maintain AR aging reports and prioritize collection efforts.
• Job Costing & Reconciliation: Reconcile project expenses against budgets and billing documents.
• Financial Reconciliations: Reconcile credit card transactions and supporting documentation.
• Customer Relationships: Serve as primary contact for billing questions and payment issues.
• Discrepancy Resolution: Research billing errors and coordinate with internal teams and customers.
• Recordkeeping & Reporting: Maintain billing/AR records and generate regular reports.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with project managers and operations on billable costs.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve billing accuracy and financial controls.
