Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Business Development Manager to own the market relationships with general contractors, owners, developers and design firms, driving the pipeline and signed testing and inspection work.

You will work with a seller-doer engineer on pricing and the technical side while handling relationships, bids, proposals, and contract finalization, with travel in the market and occasional trips to Sugar Land.

Qualifications

5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market.
Disciplined, forecastable pipeline management.
Comfortable discussing specs and schedules with superintendents and owners.

Responsibilities

Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms in your market.
Own relationships end to end and track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before it is awarded; qualify and pursue it.
Run the pursuit pipeline in the CRM from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
Coordinate proposals with the engineering team: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up.
Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events; report pipeline and results monthly.
