Job summary

CLA is hiring an Audit Director or Manager to join our CLA Carolantaville Construction team. This is an in-office position that can sit in our Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, or Nashville offices.

In this role, you'll work with CLA's construction clients, providing them clarity into their businesses. Well-qualified candidates will plan, supervise and control all phases of engagements, lead staffing and execution, and communicate progress to the Engagement Principal while mentoring staff and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA license certification is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.
• Strong leadership and client service mindset.
• Ability to lead a team and manage engagements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and control all phases of construction industry engagements as delegated by Principals.
• Lead in‑charge responsibilities; plan timing, staffing and execution to deliver value.
• Direct engagement progress; keep the Engagement Principal informed of major decisions and progress.
• Develop a trained team through coaching, planning assignments and evaluating staff performance.
• Supervise engagement letters, discuss terms with clients, estimate fees and obtain signed letters before start.
• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs; revise as necessary and present for approval.
• Monitor time budgets and deadlines; communicate developments to the Principal and prepare final meetings.
