Job summary

CLA is hiring an Audit Director or Manager to join our Carolantaville Construction team in an in-office role. This position can sit in Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, or Nashville offices and involves leading audits for construction clients with strategic oversight and value-added insights.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, at least 6 years in a large firm, CPA certification, and strong leadership capabilities to guide a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a large professional services or public accounting firm.
• CPA license certification is required.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to guide a team.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for planning, supervising, and controlling all phases of the Firm’s construction industry clients as delegated by Principals.
• Plan timing, staffing and execution of assurance engagements to promote efficiency and deliver value to clients.
• Lead decision-making for assigned engagements; keep Engagement Principal informed of major decisions and progress.
• Develop a trained team through recruiting, planning, problem-solving, staff evaluation, and mentoring in development programs.
• Supervise preparation of engagement letters, discuss terms with clients, estimate fees, and secure signatures before engagement start.
• Evaluate internal controls and audit programs, revise as necessary, and present to Engagement Principal for approval.
• Monitor time budgets and deadlines; communicate developments and recommendations to Engagement Principal; prepare final client meetings.
