Job summary

HireIQ in Long Island, NY is seeking a Construction Billing Specialist to manage AIA billing from preparation through payment. You will work directly with contractors and project teams while ensuring accurate lien waivers, certified payroll, and proper contract documentation.

This role requires hands-on billing, AR experience, and strong Excel skills. Responsibilities include preparing AIA applications, tracking payments and change orders, and resolving billing queries.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction billing or project accounting.
• AIA payment applications preparation independently.
• Accounts receivable and collections experience.
• Familiarity with retainage, lien waivers and contract documentation.
• Strong communication, organization and Excel skills.
• Construction billing platforms preferred.

The Role

• Prepare and submit AIA G702/G703 payment applications
• Coordinate lien waivers, certified payroll documentation and stored-materials support
• Track change orders, contract values, retainage and outstanding payments
• Submit billing through platforms such as Textura and GC Pay
• Resolve billing queries with contractors, project managers and customers
• Follow up on collections and support project closeout

Your Experience

• Previous construction billing or project accounting experience
• Confident preparing AIA payment applications independently
• Accounts receivable and collections experience
• Familiarity with retainage, lien waivers and contract documentation
• Strong communication, organisation and Excel skills
• Construction billing platform experience would be advantageous
