United Contractor Services, LLC is a national subcontractor specializing in commercial drywall construction for large-scale projects. We seek a Construction Accountant to join our accounting team and support daily project finance activities.

The role involves journal entries, AR support, reconciliations, and month-/year-end closing. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in accounting or related field and 3+ years in multi-entity construction accounting with ERP experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
3+ years of experience in multi-entity Construction Accounting or Finance roles.
Strong understanding of GAAP, GL, AR and Cash Management processes.
Experience with ViewPoint or Oracle ERP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Problem-solving mindset to resolve discrepancies independently.
Team player with a proactive, customer-service approach.
Experience with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Experience with construction waivers and licensing is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve variances.
Generate monthly customer billings with supporting documents including waivers.
Support accounts receivable activities including cash application and soft collections.
Reconcile customer accounts, resolve billing discrepancies and assist collection of outstanding balances.
Investigate discrepancies between recorded receivables and payments with the accounting team.
Coordinate collection and submission of subcontractor waivers to facilitate payments.
Ensure project compliance with COIs, warranty letters, bonds and lien waivers.
Respond to inquiries related to accounting and financial matters promptly.
Support month-end and year-end closing activities and related reporting.
Maintain organized financial documentation for audits and regulatory compliance.
Perform general accounting tasks, data entry, filing and record maintenance.
Review employee expense reports in RAMP for accuracy and policy compliance.
Provide administrative and operational support to the accounting team.
Contribute to process improvements and adherence to accounting policies and internal controls.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
