Job summary

ER Contracting is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accounting Specialist to support the financial operations of our residential and commercial construction projects. This role focuses on job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and maintaining accurate ledgers using QuickBooks Online and Excel.

The ideal candidate has construction accounting experience, high accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently while ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Verifiable accounting experience in the construction industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, financial tracking).
• Experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Understanding of job costing and percentage-of-completion accounting.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle construction accounting, including job costing.
• Manage project cost tracking, budget analysis, and variance reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Process accounts payable and support accounts receivable functions.
• Monitor project billing, retainage, lien waivers, and subcontractor payments.
• Collaborate with project managers on budgets, change orders, and forecasts.
