Job summary

Chamberlin Roofing & Waterproofing in Houston is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage monthly and yearly close, review financial statements, and support tax compliance for construction projects.

Requires 2-5 years of accounting experience, accounting degree, and strong skills in job costing, WIP reporting, and construction billing. Proficiency with Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, or CMiC is preferred; CPA or candidate a plus.

Qualifications

• Accounting Degree Required.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience required.
• Familiarity with job costing, WIP reporting, and construction billing processes preferred.
• CPA or CPA candidate a plus.
• Experience with construction accounting software such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, CMiC, or similar systems preferred.
• Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other related MS Office products.
• Knowledge of an accounting information system is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and yearly accounting close processes.
• Review financial statements and perform account reconciliations for irregularities.
• Analyze budgets and create expense reports.
• Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns.
• Assist in financial and tax audits.
• Oversee payroll and provide backup when necessary.
• Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger.
• Maintain job costing and related documentation.
• Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Review internal controls and address deficiencies as needed.
• Maintain financial data accuracy and integrity.
• Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
• Report to the Controller and work to improve financial processes.
