Job summary

The Jess Howard Electric Company is seeking an Accounting Manager in Ohio to learn the full accounting operation from the ground up and grow into a leadership role within the department.

The role emphasizes problem solving, process improvement, and collaboration with team members across the company. In-office schedule is Monday–Friday, 7 AM to 4 PM, with a salary range of $85,000–$115,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Progressive accounting experience across functions.
• Experience managing or leading employees.
• Experience in commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Perform bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end accounting activities.
• Learn and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and purchasing processes.
• Learn and provide backup support for field and office payroll.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Write and maintain SOPs for the accounting department.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal controls.
• Cross-train with accounting team members to understand each function.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and support to accounting team members as leadership responsibilities grow.
