Job summary

MEJA Construction is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the company’s day-to-day accounting and financial operations. The role reports to the Controller and collaborates with our CPA to ensure accurate financial management.

This position is designed to provide a career path into the Controller role as knowledge and experience grow, with responsibilities spanning AP, GL, month-end close, job-cost accounting, and financial reporting across Sage Intacct and Procore integrations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; Bachelor’s preferred.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Construction accounting or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with Sage Intacct, Procore, Titanium, or comparable systems preferred.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, AP, and financial reporting.
• Month-end close, job-cost accounting, WIP, or construction financial reporting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and AP processing.
• Review and resolve invoice and pay application issues, coding, approvals, and discrepancies.
• Manage payments, vendor records, and disbursements in the financial system.
• Coordinate 1099 filings and audits, ensure proper documentation, and maintain supporting records.
• Support monthly and year-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Assist with reconciling financial and project information across systems (Sage Intacct, Procore, Titanium, ADP).
