James E Fulton & Sons, Inc. in Kalamazoo, MI, is seeking an Accountant / Bookkeeper to join the in-office team. You will own payroll, AR, AP, and office support, partnering with the Controller to keep operations, cash flow, and audits running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience with payroll, AP, and AR in a small to mid-sized business.
• Proficient in Excel; comfortable with Windows and pivot tables/macros.
• Attention to detail and strong organization; able to juggle deadlines with office needs.

Responsabilités

• Own weekly payroll processing from time tickets to final submission, including prevailing wage payroll when applicable.
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable: code invoices to correct jobs, post tickets, file documentation, maintain vendor records.
• Drive accounts receivable: invoice trucking, excavating, toll road and snowplowing work; apply payments and follow up on collections.
• Build and maintain clear spreadsheets and job documents so teams have up-to-date information.
• Provide front-office support including phones, mail, permits, COIs, office supplies and audit support.
