Job summary

Harlingen Convention Center is seeking a Conference Services Manager to plan and execute group events, acting as the main liaison between clients and staff to meet expectations. You will coordinate room setups, AV needs, and special requirements across the property.

Applicants should hold a graduate degree, have at least 2 years in hotel/conference settings, and be proficient with AV equipment and software such as Microsoft Office, Delphi, and Social Tables.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in hotel/conference center.
• Experience with AV, conferencing equipment, and setup styles.
• Strong problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and ensures execution of group events including dates, timing of arrival and departure, room setups, diagrams, AV/production needs, rooming lists.
• Knowledgeable about property amenities to promote effective utilization for corporate accounts.
• Promote ancillary services (banquets, receptions) to meet meeting objectives and drive revenue.
• Coordinate site visits with key personnel to plan and coordinate all meeting needs.
• Follow proper channels for special rates and concessions and ensure group billing accuracy.
• Distribute in-house reports and attend weekly meetings; communicate details clearly to staff.
