Job summary

The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a guest-focused Conference Service Manager to support luxury group bookings and events on Michigan Avenue. You will coordinate with sales managers, banquets, catering and AV teams to deliver seamless experiences for conference clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in a luxury hotel.
• Excellent written skills including report writing; strong oral presentation.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with sales managers for group bookings and coordinate with department staff.
• Liaise between client and hotel for client needs (rooms, catering and events, AV, transportation).
• Know hotel facilities and meeting room capacities.
• Maintain group sales contracts: deposits, cut-off dates, attrition, billing instructions.
• Develop creative menu presentations for potential clients.
• Attend weekly resume meetings and conduct property tours for meeting planners.
• Coordinate with banquet captains and conference concierge for on-site client presence.

Working with a talented team of Food & Beverage professionals, The Peninsula Chicago is seeking a guest-focused Conference Service Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

• Communicate with the sales managers responsible for booking various group businesses, as well as all other department staff members who will be involved in carrying out the needs of group/guests.
• Act as the liaison between the client and the hotel for all of the client needs, (i.e. hotel rooms, catering and events, audio visual, transportation, off-site event recommendations)
• Have excellent knowledge of hotel facilities and capacities/dimensions of meeting rooms
• Maintain the policies set forth in the roup sales contract (i.e., deposits, cut-off dates, attrition, rooming list, billing instructions)
• Develop creative menu presentations for potential clients
• Attend and participate in the weekly resume meeting
• Conduct tours of the property with meeting planners and potential clients
• Coordinate with banquet captains and conference concierge to ensure a continuous presence for on-site clients

General Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years leadership experience ia luxury hotel
• Excellent written skills including report writing, above average skills in oral presentation
• Degree in Hospitality Management preferred
• Strong understanding and knowledge of food and beverage

To be considered for the position, you must have work authorization in the United States. The salary range for this roke is $65,000-70,000 per year.
