Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking conductor trainees in La Crosse, WI for a full-time role that supports safe and efficient freight movement. Training includes on-the-job and classroom components, with travel to Overland Park, KS for up to 19 weeks.

Relocation is not offered; a 60-day probationary period applies. Position requires on-call shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, with frequent travel within the seniority region.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• At least 18 years old by the start date.
• Able to report for duty at the designated work location.
• Able to work in safety-sensitive outdoor conditions.
• Able to travel as required.
• English reading/writing/listening ability.
• Physically able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Able to climb/descend ladders and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Communicate information via devices, monitor and report daily work.
• Operate track switches and derails to adjust routes.
• Inspect trains and equipment per federal regulations; monitor track conditions.
• Work in a safety-sensitive environment under extreme weather conditions.
