Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a Conductor Trainee for a Primary Recall position in Los Angeles. You will learn to manage train operations, assist with safety protocols, and support efficient freight movement within a large network.

The role is full-time (40 hours/week), with on-call duties, night shifts, weekends, and holidays. Training includes on-the-job and classroom instruction, with travel to the company training center in Overland Park, KS.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
• Able to work the above shift/hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Communication responsibilities include obtaining, receiving, and acting on information (oral and written) and reporting daily work.
• Switching functions involve operating track switches and derails to change train routing and ensure correct alignment.
• Train and equipment inspections include inspecting cars per federal regulations and reporting track conditions.
• Daily work is in a safety sensitive environment with exposure to diverse and extreme weather conditions.
