Job summary

BNSF Railway is seeking a Conductor trainee in Alliance, TX, with travel to Haslet, TX and other locations. This full-time role requires safety-first performance, on-call shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, with company-paid training in Overland Park, KS.

Relocation is not offered; a 60-day probation applies. You will learn train operations, signals, and safety procedures while supporting efficient movement of freight across the network.

Qualifications

• Able to work now and in the future without sponsorship in obtaining employment authorization.
• At least 18 years of age by start date.
• Able to report for duty at the designated work location.
• Able to work the stated shift/hours and travel requirements.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
• Able to lift up to 80 pounds.
• Able to learn hand signals and judge speed and distance.
• Color vision including red, blue, green, yellow and night vision.
• Able to distinguish colors on screens and in signals.
• Able to climb ladders and work at various heights.

Responsibilities

• Communication responsibilities: obtain, receive, and act on information and monitor daily work.
• Switching functions: operate track switches and derails and check alignment.
• Train and equipment inspections: inspect cars and monitor track conditions.
• Daily duties in a safety sensitive environment with diverse weather conditions.
