Job summary

Tilcon Connecticut Inc. is seeking a Concrete Quality Control Intern to assist the Quality Control team in ensuring ready-mix concrete meets standards and project specs.

You will gain hands-on experience in laboratory and field testing, material evaluation, and plant operations while learning QA processes in construction materials. You'll work with QC technicians and plant personnel, performing sampling, testing, data recording, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in a safety‑first

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a relevant degree (construction/materials/engineering tech).
• Rising junior, senior, or graduate student preferred.
• Must be 18+ and pass pre-employment checks (drug screen, background).
• Valid driver's license and ability to drive.
• Willingness to travel and work nights/weekends when needed.
• Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply safety culture and practices.
• Assist sampling and testing of concrete per ASTM/ACI specs.
• Support field and lab testing of concrete and aggregates.
• Record test results and maintain quality documentation.
• Assist with monitoring plant production for mix design compliance.
• Observe jobsite testing and customer interactions.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
