Job summary

Greenleaf Hospitality Group in Kalamazoo is seeking a hands-on Food & Beverage Supervisor to oversee preparation and service of food and beverages during events. You will supervise staff, ensure compliance with the Health Code and Michigan Liquor Law procedures, and maintain proper portioning, temperatures, and labeling.

You will manage money handling, counts, requisitions, spoilage records, and end-of-event paperwork, train staff, and report any discipline issues to the F&B Manager.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours or more.
• Able to stoop and bend.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds from time to time.
• Able to comply with safety and health code standards.
• Able to handle responsibilities that require repetitive motion tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise preparation and service of food/beverage to patrons in a friendly and efficient manner.
• Operate and maintain the F&B stand in compliance with Health Code and Michigan Liquor Law procedures.
• Ensure all employees check I.D. and uphold one beer limit as directed by the F&B Manager.
• Ensure proper food portions and temperatures are used and served.
• Oversee money handling, tips, and counts; provide change when needed.
• Report employee discipline problems to the F&B Manager.
• Train all staff on proper clean-up procedures.
• Inspect stand for cleanliness and proper labeling/storage before dismissing staff.
• Retain at least 2 staff members for inspection by the F&B Manager.
• Count in/out items at events and record on paperwork.
• Check in requisitioned items during events and record.
• Maintain spoilage bucket and record spoiled items.
• Submit spoiled items in spoilage bucket at end of event.
• Request change as needed.
• Complete sales report and submit with bank and deposit.
• Complete requisition for next event with sales report.
• Report items needing repair or replacement.
