Job summary

University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Computer Specialist to provide system-level and client support for hardware and software across the College of Arts & Sciences. The role covers Windows and Mac OS environments on workstations, staff laptops, and IT-rich labs within the College and its affiliates.

The position requires an associate's degree in computer science or related field plus two years of IT support experience, with demonstrated hardware, software and networking skills.

Description of Work

Provide system-level and client support of all hardware and software systems in the College, including installation, configuration and maintenance for both Windows and MAC OS. Systems include faculty and staff workstations and laptops, student workstations, IT-rich Labs, and other equipment within the College of Arts & Sciences, its departments and affiliates.

Minimum Required Qualifications

Problem solving skills and ability to deal effectively with people. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair computer hardware. Ability to learn administration of multiple college IT systems. Ability to train others in the use of such technology systems. Ability to communicate and collaborate with faculty, staff, and students.
