Goodwill Central Texas is seeking a Computer Works Technician to test, refurbish, and price donated computers for resale or recycling. You will assess donated tech, build and image systems, and handle customer questions with a focus on quality and accuracy.

The role requires 2–3 years in tech, strong hardware/software knowledge, and reliable English communication. A warehouse-friendly candidate with attention to safety will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years’ experience in the technology industry.
• Proficient in software and hardware components.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Prior experience with pallet jacks, dock operations and warehousing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the value of donated computers and parts determines next step.
• Tests, builds and images donated computers.
• Tests internal components.
• Tests and wipes hard drives to Reconnect standards.
• Obtains technical and component information.
• Packages, prices and stocks components and systems for purchase.
• Answers technical questions and provides customer support, service and upgrades.
• Minimizes returns and exchanges of parts and systems through accuracy and attention to detail.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
