Job summary

Zekelman Industries in Richmond, VA is seeking a warehouse worker responsible for picking, packing, and loading steel tube and pipe, using standard warehouse equipment to ensure efficient material handling. This role requires adherence to safety policies and accurate order processing.

You will operate forklifts and related equipment, verify orders with scanners, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. A high school diploma and at least two years of warehouse experience are preferred;

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years warehouse experience in steel or tubing preferred
• Experience operating standard warehouse equipment

Responsibilities

• Champions and enforces safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepares materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipment.
• Processes and fulfills orders from customers and internal teams.
• Picks, packs, and stages orders, verifying accuracy using scanning tools.
• Loads shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers.
• Receives, inspects, and processes incoming materials, reporting any damages.
• Replenishes warehouse stock and rotates inventory using a reach truck or forklift.
• Operates forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and walkie rider pallet jacks to move materials efficiently.
• Standardizes and optimizes shipping and receiving procedures for accuracy and efficiency.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Regular, full-time onsite attendance is required.

About The Role:

Under direct supervision, responsible for picking, packing, and loading steel tube and pipe while adhering to established procedures and quality standards. Operates standard warehouse equipment to ensure efficient material handling.

Education / Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in steel or tubing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
