Zekelman Industries in North Kansas City, MO, is seeking a Warehouse Associate to pick, pack, and load steel tube and pipe on first shift. You will use scanners and standard warehouse equipment, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate orders.

This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficiency. With a high school diploma and at least two years of warehouse experience, you’ll contribute to on-time shipments and inventory control in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Champions and enforces safe work practices.

• Loads shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers.
• Receives, inspects, and processes incoming materials.
• Replenishes stock and rotates inventory with reach truck/forklift.
• Operates forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Standardizes shipping/receiving procedures for accuracy.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Operates standard warehouse equipment to ensure efficient material handling.First Shift: 6am - 2:30pmJob ResponsibilitiesChampions and enforces safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.Prepares materials, products, and equipment for distribution and shipment.Processes and fulfills orders from customers and internal teams.Picks, packs, and stages orders, verifying accuracy using scanning tools.Loads shipments onto flatbed trucks or LTL carriers.Receives, inspects, and processes incoming materials, reporting any damages.Replenishes warehouse stock and rotates inventory using a reach truck or forklift.Operates forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and walkie rider pallet jacks to move materials efficiently.Standardizes and optimizes shipping and receiving procedures for accuracy and efficiency.Performs additional duties as assigned.Regular, full-time onsite attendance is required.Education / ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in steel or tubing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge / Skills / CompetenciesBasic math skills for accurate order processing.Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.Problem-solving ability to address warehouse challenges.High attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and quality standards.Zekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
