Job summary

UNC-Chapel Hill is seeking two Compliance Investigator positions to conduct prompt and thorough investigations into university policy violations, including Title IX related matters. The role requires coordinating with multiple offices, interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and producing detailed, objective reports while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and university policies.

Preferred candidates hold a JD and have at least three years’ investigation experience in HR, student

Qualifications

• Post-Baccalaureate degree required; for comparable experience, a relevant Bachelor’s with at least 1 year of experience accepted.
• Three years of progressive investigation experience in HR, student conduct, or Title IX or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of multiple policies, federal/state laws, and non-discrimination regulations.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and oral, with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct prompt, thorough investigations of complaints supporting University policies.
• Interview witnesses, gather documents, and prepare investigative reports with conclusions on policy violations.
• Develop investigative plans, coordinate with University offices, and maintain thorough case files.
• Present records or determinations in hearings or grievance proceedings and implement best practices.
